The BBC reporter Sima Kotecha and the filmmaker Gurinder Chadha teamed up to highlight two problems faced by many from the South Asian community in the UK, overweight/obesity and diabetes. Both conditions are driven by a high carbohydrate diet and in particular their love bread, rice and potatoes. Gurider substituted lower-carb alternatives, lost weight and has put her diabetes into remission. This is a real-life good-news story.

‘Within the Asian community, food is central to who we are, our culture, how we express our love. When we start to change our eating habits and lifestyle it goes right to the core of who we are as a community.’
